"To pay attention, this is our endless and proper work"
Mary Oliver
how i work
Trained in an integration of psychodynamic, humanistic and existential approaches I draw primarily on existential thought in my practice. This approach doesn't seek to pathologise or medicalise suffering but rather recognises and honours it as part of the immense challenge of human experience. Here we ask how might we live amongst this, how might we live with others, what is a meaningful life for us. For me it is a therapy which places emphasis on possibility, freedom and choice within a warm, deeply human, therapeutic relationship.

As part of this approach I will invite you to express past and present experiences and offer a particular kind of attention and engagement - seeking not to explain or theorise but to go closer into your experience and see what may reveal itself. In my experience this can create deep insights about self and reveal possibilities for living.

Existential psychotherapy is an approach which views the therapist-client relationship as a very real one. I see that we have quite a unique opportunity to explore what happens between us which can be of great value in our work.
